Common questions.
How do platform credits work?
Credits are PaperGuru's platform currency for running model-powered workflows: paper analysis, benchmark queries, drafting assists, and so on. Studio includes 10,000; Sprint 20,000; Star 30,000; Supreme 35,000. Credits arrive in your account on the first day of the engagement and roll over for 12 months. They stack on top of any monthly Fellow allowance.
What exactly does the Supreme guarantee cover?
If PaperGuru does not help you secure acceptance to the main research track of one of your shortlisted top venues within 12 months of payment, 70% of the Supreme fee (USD 3,500) is refunded. The shortlist is co-signed by you and your coach at the end of Phase 1. Excluded: withdrawals initiated by the author, missed deadlines for reasons within the author's control, papers that violate venue policies (plagiarism, undisclosed LLM use, dual submission), and engagements paused for more than 90 days by the author. Workshop, findings, and "tiny paper" tracks do not count.
Why did you remove the Star success fee?
Authors told us the contingent structure made budgeting unpredictable — a USD 6,000 surprise on acceptance was harder to plan around than a single USD 3,000 line item. We moved Star to a flat fee and put the outcome-aligned version into Supreme, where the trade is explicit: pay more upfront, get a refund if we miss.
Sprint is now 1:3 instead of 1:1 — why?
Two reasons. First, deadline-clustered cohorts hit a methodology session at the same week regardless of who's in the room, so group sessions are no less effective than private ones for most of the engagement. Second, sharing a coach across three authors lets us keep the per-person price at USD 1,000 while doubling the credit allocation. Each author still gets a private 1:1 polish call before submission.
How does the Studio cohort form?
We run Studio cohorts roughly monthly, grouped by venue and topic area (e.g. "ICML methods", "ACL applied NLP"). When you apply, we either slot you into the next upcoming cohort or, if a cohort is more than 4 weeks away, hold your spot and notify you when one opens. Refundable in full if no compatible cohort runs within 8 weeks of payment.
Can I upgrade between tiers?
Yes, in either direction. Studio to Sprint, Sprint to Star, Star to Supreme: 100% of fees paid credit toward the next tier within 12 months, with the same coach carrying over when available. Downgrades aren't available once coaching has begun.
How does WeChat Pay work?
Select CNY / WeChat at checkout. The fee is converted at the prevailing rate and you'll receive a WeChat Pay QR code valid for 30 minutes. Invoices are issued in CNY by AutoTrust AI's mainland affiliate; for fapiao (增值税发票) requests, mention it at intake. USD card, SWIFT bank transfer, Alipay, and UnionPay are also accepted on all tiers.
What about authorship and ghostwriting?
Same rule across all four tiers: coaching only. Coaches provide written feedback and edit suggestions, never sentences you can paste in. Coaches do not run experiments, do not write code, and are not co-authors. This is what makes the engagement compatible with authorship standards at every venue we target.

No guarantee of acceptance. Peer review is conducted independently by venue program committees, area chairs, and reviewers, none of whom are affiliated with PaperGuru. No coach, employee, or contractor of PaperGuru can promise, influence, or guarantee a paper's acceptance at any venue. The Supreme tier refund guarantee aligns incentives between PaperGuru and the client; it is not — and must not be construed as — a representation that acceptance is likely, expected, or in any way assured.
Coaching, not authorship. Customize provides editorial coaching, methodological feedback, and submission strategy support. Coaches do not write, co-write, or ghostwrite client manuscripts. Coaches do not run experiments, write code, or generate technical content credited to the client. The intellectual contribution, authorship, and substance of any submitted paper remain solely the client's.
Academic integrity is the client's responsibility. The client warrants that all work submitted to peer-reviewed venues represents their own original research and complies with their institution's, employer's, and the target venue's policies on academic integrity, plagiarism, dual submission, large language model use, and external assistance. PaperGuru is not responsible for any allegation, investigation, sanction, or consequence arising from a client's failure to comply.
Disclosure of assistance. Some venues require or recommend disclosure of editorial assistance, LLM usage, or third-party support. PaperGuru briefs the client on applicable disclosure norms for their target venue, but the obligation to make accurate and complete disclosures rests with the client and the client's co-authors.
Supreme guarantee scope. The 70% refund guarantee applies only to the Supreme tier. It is triggered when PaperGuru does not help you secure acceptance to the main research track of a shortlisted top venue within 12 months of payment. Workshop tracks, findings tracks, student research workshops, "tiny papers" tracks, journal-to-conference reroutes, late-breaking tracks, and demo tracks are excluded by default. Conditional acceptances, accept-with-revisions decisions, and acceptances received after the 12-month engagement window do not qualify.
Star tier — flat fee, no contingent. The Star tier is a flat engagement fee of USD 3,000. There is no success fee and no second invoice on acceptance. The fee is refundable within 7 calendar days of payment, provided coaching has not yet begun. Once coaching has begun, the fee is non-refundable.
Studio and Sprint — group format. Studio (1:6) and Sprint (1:3) are group-format engagements. Studio cohorts are subject to scheduling and venue-grouping by PaperGuru. Sprint triads share a single coach and a single designated target venue; authors within the same triad submit to the same venue and the same deadline window.
Confidentiality & intellectual property. A mutual non-disclosure agreement governs every engagement. PaperGuru and its coaches do not claim any ownership, license, or interest in the client's intellectual property, research data, models, or manuscripts. Coaches are contractually prohibited from using engagement-specific content in their own research or commercial activity.
Independent service. PaperGuru.AI is an independent provider. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, CVPR, ACL, EMNLP, or any other conference, journal, professional society, or publisher. Venue names and trademarks appear on this page solely to indicate the categories of submission for which our coaching is offered.
Teams engagements. Teams contracts are governed by a separate Master Services Agreement, executed before deployment. Pricing, SLAs, deployment options, and data residency are negotiated bilaterally. Features described on this page reflect typical offerings and may vary based on the executed contract.
Governing terms. All engagements are governed by the relevant executed agreement. In the event of any conflict between this page and the executed agreement, the agreement controls. Engagements are subject to Singapore law unless otherwise agreed in writing.
